During the last month I have spent most my time in doctors offices and the hospital with my brother-in-law. He has multiple myeloma and just went through his stem cell replacement. Everything went so well and I am so proud of him. He has special needs and he handled it like a pro. Due to things unseen I ended up staying with him the whole time. My helpers couldn’t make it and Hubby bless his heart is doing hay, tagging cattle and keeping up two yards and everything else I use to help with.
It has been an eye-opening experience, to say the lest. I have realized that people who deal with cancer, will see people walk the other way . I’m not sure if its fear or they just don’t want to be bothered or both. I am grateful to be able to help. I would be lying if I didn’t say the endless appointments and the endless worry have been having a field day with my diabetes. I will figure it out, I would love the prayers for David and for me. I also need prayers for His mom who will be 90 next month and also goes with me on every appointment, between the two I have a fun day………….lol
The garden has been left on its own for over 3 weeks and I am trying to get the weeds pulled a foot at a time. I am so glad I got it started, this will have to be my stress release. I do have baby tomatoes and my potatoes are doing great. The corn, well lets just say it tried. I will replant. I missed out on my strawberry picking this year, darn it ! But next year things should be back to normal. The baby geese have all but grown up and they will be leaving the farm soon. The calves are all but to cute and the cattle have shed their winter coat. Rinny, my GS, is now a year old and sorry to say has been on hold in the training department. So sorry for her.
Well, as I said a lot has happened…………I hope to get back into writing soon. Everyone have a great day. I will try to catch up on your blogs and read them through. See ya.
It’s been a whirlwind around the farm. New calves are being born, needing banded and tagged, plus fences to mend and loading shoots, head gates and garden to be put in .
I got my first strawberry. New plants so the rest of the flowers and berries have been removed so the roots can grow.
2 weeks ago my garden looked like this.
Today my cabbage is doing great, Beans and onions are up along with corn. The berries are starting to show on my raspberry plants and the blackberries are thriving also. Now just to keep ahead of the birds.
Hubby has been fixing the head gate, and widening the shoot. Been very busy!!!
But above all is my brother in law, from now on I will call him brother D, I have been in this family for 43 years, he is a brother. He has Multiple Myeloma. His had stem cell harvesting this past week and did great. We go back along with his mother and sister to be there on Tues for the stem cell infusion. It will be a long road. 21 days in the hospital. We are taking turns staying with him, so prayers would be wonderful during this, for Him. D is a very special young guy of 64. Nurses love him, but who couldn’t. He has a heart of gold and loves everyone. In his world everything is always good. This he really something he doesn’t understand, but we will help him all we can. Thank you.
I was up at 3:34 this morning, thought I would read through some more blogs I follow. I also checked on blogs that I haven’t heard from in a while. Sorry to say some have stopped blogging, and are putting their things on Facebook or other media. I’m not on Facebook or any other media. I did have a Facebook page and found out that I was spending way too much time hearing too much gossip, Peoples political views, and their love life. I do miss some of my friends, but I also enjoy that I’m no longer a junky of it I’m not saying it’s wrong for anyone, just not me. I like a good story, real feelings, and the fact that I can’t be sent game requests or read this or die pictures, lol Again to each their own.
We have a busy day today, church this morning then off to youngest daughters to help move some plants before the gravel comes in to widen the driveway. It has rained most of the week and this is the only time we can work it in. Plus a little grilling and family time. I’ll post a few pictures when I get back on.
I will be posting less for this month. I will be traveling back and forth with a family member who has cancer. They will start stem cell replacement this month and I will be staying with them most the time. My laptop crashed a few days back so unless I can get it fixed cheap I won’t be able to post much.
Well this was short , but my coffee is gone and it’s about time to start breakfast. Hubby loves biscuits and gravy. Oh and bacon ! can’t forget that. lol Have a wonderful Sunday, I pray it’s a Blessed one.
This morning I was telling hubby good- bye in the driveway and took a quick pic of the sunrise….sad I didn’t look at it until now. If I had took the time to redo it, then I think I would of lost the message of it. Not all things seen are clear, but all things can be beautiful. So I show it, blurred as it can be, but the colors still show on. Gods grace is the same, He sees the beauty in our blurred life! Trusting in Him always.
This is Jag, when he was learning how to keep his ears up,lol
This is Jag now on his first birthday. He is a well loved fur baby. Who waited on mommy to say ok. before he dug into his cake.
He got a doggie cake , made from his grandma Sherry. There was a party and grilling done, with goodies. He had fun with family.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day.
Went to sunrise service this morning. Had a great fellowship with some old friends and heard the great news of Jesus. I’m sure many on this Aprils Fools Day feel that Gods people are in fact fools. Who would believe that someone site unseen by us today, would believe in His resurrection and that He will return.. Oh how I pray those who see us as fools would come to know our Lord.
John 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection , and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live :
John 14:1-3 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
Have a wonderful day in the Lord………………………God Bless You!
It has been so pretty today, and now the clouds are rolling in with a strong wind. I do enjoy the sound of the wind-chimes.. but the electric has went off twice already. We will see how that goes. I do have lamps and candles ready.
Our family has a scavenger hunt every Easter. I have candy filled and prize filled eggs hid all over the farm for the younger ones. Sometimes we find some months later, lol. I hang gifts in the trees with hints for the older kids and adults to find the treasure at the end. I have gift cards made out for each of them in their own envelope. So the whole family plays and then we end with a bond fire and family gathering to remember how much we love each other and the gift God gave to us, Jesus.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter !!!! Thank you, Jesus!!!
